Felixstowe

A few shots from a day around Felixstowe.

This was a two minute exposure using a Super Stopper. I have for some time been looking for the right opportunity to capture these groynes at Felixstow with my super stopper. I needed the right tide conditions along with some very contrasty light to get the effect I am after, unfortunately I arrived at high tide and due to lack of time I could not spend at least an hour for the tide to turn and give me the shot I am after, so I will have to try again. Looking at the back of my camera I thought this was no good however I am pleased with this effect even if it was not what I am looking for.

Marks Hall Suffolk Horse

Today Marks Hall played host to the Suffolk Punch Heavy Horses Society’s Spectacular.
They say “The Suffolk Punch is the rarest of the UK’s Heavy Horses and this will be the country’s biggest gathering. There will be horse drawn vehicles, working demonstrations and you can talk to the owners and learn all about this beautiful breed.”

This is an exercise in control. The horse goes around the field towing a block of wood and then the handler must bring the horse to a stop with the timber perfectly balanced. Such a difficult task, the handler was delighted & she hoped that I had taken the shot. Even the horse looked pleased with his ears fully erect and pointing forward, a good sign I understand. Apparently horses communicate with their ears.
